HALIFAX – Top-seeds Victoria Altomare and Melissa Humana-Paredes of Toronto won the silver medal in women’s competition on Sunday to conclude the FIVB under-21 world beach volleyball championships.
In the women’s final, Altomare and Humana-Parades, seeded number-one, lost 21-16, 14-21, 15-11 to eighth seeds Nina Betschart and Joana Heidrich of Switzerland.

Summer of Success for East York Teen

It was a summer of sand, sun and championships for Victoria Altomare.
Along with partner Melissa Humana-Paredes they stacked their trophy case, winning prestigious beach volleyball tournaments in Canada and the United States. The victories began in July when the duo captured the under 18 U.S. Beach Nationals crown in California.
