Durham Attack’s Kennedy Makes Her Mark In 2012

Kennedy

In only her second season playing volleyball, Jayden Kennedy, from the Durham Attack Volleyball Club has had an action packed year.

After winning a silver medal at the 16U Provincial Indoor Championships in the Premier Division (Tier 1) her team went on to earn a bronze medal at the 17U Provincial Indoor Championships in the Premier Division (Tier 2) under the leadership of head coach Evan Williams.  Kennedy was awarded with the Ontario Volleyball Associations Award of Excellence for 2012.

Not having had her fill of indoor volleyball, Kennedy tried out for the 18U High Performance Centre training camp and was selected to join the top 40 female volleyball players across the province for an intensive week of elite indoor training by Ontario’s top ranked coaches.  Although she was not selected for the 18U provincial program, she was grateful for the opportunity and looks forward to trying out again next season with great hopes of being selected to represent Ontario.

With her indoor season finished, Jayden Kennedy set her sights on the beach.  Kennedy earned a spot on the Region 4 Beach Volleyball Team with hopes of competing in the Ontario Summer Games.  Matched up with her Region 4 partner, Emily Hacker from Cobourg, the dynamic duo earned a bronze medal at the 16U Provincial Beach Championships in the Premier Division followed up by another bronze medal at the Ontario Summer Games.  Both tournaments provided exceptional competition against Ontario’s finest beach volleyball players.

Jayden is looking forward to the 17U season and the upcoming year ahead.
