Storm On The Beach
After a successful indoor season, the U12 Girls Storm Typhoon team took to the beach this summer to pick up where they left off. Nine of the ten girls paired up with an additional practice player being added to group to round out the 5 Storm teams that competed on the beach. Over the course of the season, between the group, they managed to grab 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals and a gold at Provincials.
Kayla Law-Heese and Ingrid West faced their teammates, Andie Therkildsen and Julia LeBlanc, in the semi with Kayla and Ingrid moving on to the finals and winning the gold medal match. Andie and Julie faced off in the bronze game losing a hard fought three game match. At the end of the day, 4 of the teams finished up in the top 8 with the 5th team, our youngest pair; Lia DiGirolamo and Amanda Malowney (U11 girls) capturing 9th place. The girls had a great summer and are all looking forward to getting back indoors in September.
