NORCECA Beach Bronze
On Sunday in Chiapas, Mexico, Heather Bansley and Elizabeth Maloney, both from Toronto, won the bronze medal at a stop on the NORCECA (North and Central America) beach volleyball circuit. Bansley and Maloney defeated compatriots Liz Cordonier of Vancouver and Jamie Broder of Victoria in the bronze medal match 2-1 (17-21, 21-19, 15-12).
On the men’s side, Sam Schachter of Richmond Hill and Cameron Wheelan of Barrie, placed fourth. Americans Slick and Jogoda prevailed against the Canadians 2-1 (21-16, 16-21, 15-10).
