It doesn’t matter if she’s in a gym or on the beach, Landis Doyle has the talent to take over a match.

Landis’s volleyball career includes 11 years of indoor and five on the beach. She started her indoor career with the Durham Attack club and has grown into a solid college player starting for the Humber Hawks in Toronto, where she has been named  CCAA All Canadian, an OCAA Women’s Volleyball Player of the Year, OCAA First Team All-Star and Humber College’s Female Athlete of the Year.

On the beach Landis is a “Quest for Gold” program athlete, a member of the Women’s Provincial Team and a silver medalist at U21 Provincials and was a bronze medalist in the Youth Open Division.

“Beach volleyball has been proven to help your indoor volleyball skills. The high volume of repetitons helps athletes master all of the basic skills of passing, setting, serving and attacking.”

We asked Landis what she enjoys most about beach volleyball. “Its complexity. The fact that you must be a strong player all-around, having only two people means you get a lot more touches.”

We would like to thank Landis for her help with this article. We wish her continued success in both indoor and beach volleyball.
