Canada's Tdot Women, Silver Medalists World Masters Games 2009

The Tdot Women’s Volleyball Team, coached by SPIKES Clinician Marie Rolfe, is coming home with the silver medal from Sydney, Australia and the World Masters Games in the Indoor 40 plus age category. Following the completion of round robin play there was a three way tie for first place. The Tdot team managed to come out on top by a slim margin of .001 points ratio.

Moving into the playoff round in first place, the team compiled a 5-2 record to advance to the gold medal match by another slim margin – 0.04 percentage difference – over an Australian team of former national team players.

After losing to a Brazilian team in the finals, the ladies moved on to a three-day Beach Competition and all eight players walked away with a medal. Gold for the 4s team and silver for Judi Laprade and Nancy Pokupec in the doubles competition.

The team is still fund-raising and selling volleyball scarves and volleyball jewellery. We will be posting photos of the trip the last week of October on the team web site at www.tdotvolleyball.com.
