Teams Vie For Playoff Spots

During most volleyball seasons, it’s the race for top spot that’s intriguing.
However, it’s the jostling at the bottom that’s most interesting about this season’s Brant County high school senior boys division.

On Thursday, at St. John’s College, the North Park Collegiate Trojans moved to 6-0, cementing their place as the No. 1 squad in the six-team loop.
The loss, which went down on the scoresheet as 25-15, 25-15 and 25-16, left the Green Eagles with a 2-4 record.

Paris, at 5-1, comfortably holds second spot.

That means the Eagles, Pauline Johnson Collegiate Thunderbirds (3-3), Assumption College Lions (1-5) and Brantford Collegiate Institute Mustangs (1-5) are fighting to grab the final two playoff spots before the post-season begins following the 10-game regular season.

At least one St. John’s player considers his team to have the edge.
