No Medals for Canada
Puerto Rico defeated Canada for the bronze medal on Saturday 25-16, 24-26, 25-20, 22-25,15-9 at the North, Central America and Caribbean Confederation (NORCECA) men’s volleyball championships.
The Canadian team finishes the tournament in fourth place with a 3-3 record. They defeated Panama and Mexico in the round robin and the Dominican Republic in the quarterfinal. The lost to world number-three U.S., in the round robin and Cuba, third in World League play this season, in the semifinals.
With most of its top players currently playing pro overseas, Canada put up a strong fight against the Puerto Ricans currently ranked 10th in the world in a match that last two hours and 22 minutes. Canada is currently ranked 21st.
