Cossarin Hangs Up Whistle

Mark Cossarin is not just the principal at I.E. Weldon Secondary School in Lindsay. He has also been an international beach volleyball referee for the past 13 years and has finally decided to hang up his whistle. He has just returned from Europe after refereeing on the SWATCH FIVB World Beach Volleyball Tour for the past three weeks. He has refereed the best beach volleyball players in the world in Japan, China, Brazil, Norway, Spain, Poland, Austria, France, United States, Canada and Colombia. This summer, he refereed in Marseille, France; Klagenfurt, Austria; and Stare Jablonki, Poland. He was honoured to be selected to referee the women’s and men’s gold medal matches both featuring Brazil and the US at the Grand Slam event in Austria.
