Silver Medalists
Team Ontario had pretty much dominated in both indoor and beach volleyball this Canada Games. But on the final day of competition of the games both the men’s and women’s teams had to settle for silver medals in indoor finals, to add to the gold medal won by Reid Hall and Adam Podstawka and the bronze won by Dianne Burrows and Caleigh Whitaker in beach volleyball last week.
Both teams had finished top of their pools and both undefeated. Both teams lost in straight sets; the women to Manitoba 0 – 3 (20-25, 22-25, 19-25), the men losing to Alberta 0-3 (26-24, 25-18, 29-27).
Volleyball was the last sport event today with closing ceremonies to follow.
