Ontario Teams Tops
Ontario’s men’s and women’s teams finished first in their pools after Wednesday’s indoor action. Both teams remained undefeated after winning their matches of the day. The women took the minimum three sets to defeat Saskatchewan 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 26-24). The men faced an undefeated Quebec giving up the second set but went on to win 3-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20). Team Ontario men finished with a 5-0 record and will await the result of quarter-final match between BC and Saskatchewan.
The women met BC following their 1-3 defeat by the tenacious Nova Scotia (17-25, 23-25, 25-16, 18-25). The team survived the full five games to finally pull out a close win 3-2 (21-25, 25-20, 26-28, 25-15, 18-16).
Team Ontario women with a 4-0 record now await the result of the quarter-final match between Albert and Saskatchewan which will be shown today on TSN at 1pm EST. Both men’s and women’s semi-final matches will be played Friday at 3pm EST.
