RTTC Success

Ontario Volleyball held two very successful 2009 Regional Team Training Centres (RTTC) at Humber College, in Etobicoke in July. The girl’s training centre was held from July 16-19, and the boy’s from July 19-22. Partnering with Humber College, the OVA hosted over 200 athletes and more than 30 coaches and staff. The athletes were challenged daily in the gym by top coaches in the province and were tested in the classroom by presenters from the Canadian Sports Centre.
Headliners for the training centres were Dean Lowrie from the University of Western Ontario and Dustin Reid, former Ontario Volleyball technical director and now the women’s coach at Ryerson University trainned the girls while Chris Lawson of the University of Waterloo and Steve Leknois from Royal Military College put the boys through their paces.
Thank you to the athletes, parents, coaches and especially the staff at Humber College.
To follow the improvement of these up and coming athletes check out the challengers at the Regional Games being held August 10-11 at Humber College.
