NTCC-Ontario Women Take Silver

The Ontario 18U team was undefeated going into Sunday afternoon’s final against BC in NTCC action at Varsity Centre in Toronto. They could not maintain their unblemished record however and lost 3-1 by scores of 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19. The Ontario 17U team faced off against Alberta 17U in the bronze medal match and managed to win the first 2 sets of but could not sustain the momentum and lost in a heart breaker 3-2, 23-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-12.
Athletes, coaches and spectators expressed consensus that the event was a resounding success. The playing venue was excellent and teams were housed at a nearby U of T residence which enabled them all easy access to the playing venue, Varsity Centre and to Toronto’s trendy Yorkville shopping district and the mink mile.
Congratulations go to all participants and to this years All Star winners and the tournament MVP, Fort St. John’s Dana Cranston.
