Seguin Playing NTCC

Incoming University of Windsor Lancer freshman Kaila Seguin has been named to play volleyball for Team Ontario at the National Team Challenge Cup.
Seguin, a six-foot middle hitter, will play for Ontario’s U18 team in Toronto. The exciting action will continues through tomorrow, Sunday.

“This is a tremendous development opportunity for Kaila,” Lancers coach Marilyn Douglas said.
“Not only in terms of training with some of Ontario’s best at her age but also for competing against our nation’s best.”
Both Seguin, a Lajeunesse grad, and fellow Lancer freshman Michelle Pierce, also tried out for Ontario’s entry in the Canada Summer Games, where they competed for a roster spot against seasoned university players.

Following that, both were invited to Ontario’s High Performance training centre.

Pierce has just returned to Windsor from there. She is too old to be part of Team Ontario at the NTCC.

“These programs are the stepping stones or launch pad to our national team program,” Douglas said.

“Both Kaila and Michelle have that level of physical talent. Now, it’s a matter of honing their skill development, mentally, technically and tactically.”
