Duerden MVP

London, Ontario native Paul Duerden was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2009 GM Capital Challenge Cup on March 22 in Izmir, Turkey.
Duerden led Arkis Izmir, his Turkish professional team, over Poland’s Jastrzebski Wegiel SA in a five set battle to capture the gold medal in the Cup final.

Former Canadian Men’s National Team Head Coach Stelio DeRocco (Winnipeg, MB) led his Romanian professional team, Tomis Constanta, to a bronze medal victory in the Final Four of the Challenge Cup. Team Canada veteran Steve Brinkman (Bowmanville, ON) and former National Team Athletic Therapist Jim Norris (Winnipeg, MB) are also a part of Tomis Constanta.
