Crosier sights Toronto

The Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team is pleased to announce that if offered a letter of admission, Rebecca Crosier has made known her intent to attend the University of Toronto in the fall of 2009.
Crosier has accepted an athletic financial award from U of T and will major in sciences with a focus on medicine.
The Ottawa, Ont. native has played with the National Capitals Volleyball Club for five seasons. Crosier was a member of the Ontario 17U and 20U beach teams and has attended the Ontario Volleyball 18U high performance camps, where she was named “Queen of the Beach” in 2008.

Most recently, the left/rightside hitter won the gold medal at the 2008 Ontario Summer Games in beach volleyball, and as a result, was invited to attend the National Beach selection camp.

Standing at 5-foot-11, Crosier will add strength and depth to the Blues outside hitting positions.

“We are excited to have Rebecca join the Varsity Blues program,” said head coach Kristine Drakich. “She comes from a strong club program, is very athletic and has a great work ethic.”
Crosier hopes to represent Canada at the 2009 junior world beach volleyball championships in England this summer.
