King Kong a Winner

He often goes by the nickname “King Kong”, likes listening to hip hop music and his favourite professional athlete is basketball star Vince Carter.
But Steven Kung, a fourth year student at the University of Toronto, has something new to add to his portfolio after being selected on Monday as the top male university volleyball player in Ontario.
By far, it was the biggest highlight of the year for Kung.
His Varsity Blues team finished the season with a 9-11 record, eighth place in the league and out of the playoffs.
Kung averaged 4.39 points per set, the only OUA player to average more than four points a set. He was also the only OUA player to earn over 300 total points for the entire season with 329.
A graduate of Toronto’s York Mills Collegiate and former athlete of the year, Kung was the OUA leader in kills with 287. He was 15th in blocks with 36 and 14th in digs with 110. He was also named an OUA first team all-star for the second consecutive year…

Two other Greater Toronto area athletes were among those receiving premier awards.
Richmond Hill’s Sam Schachter, who played for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, was OUA Rookie of the Year.
And Peter Hrkal, from Caledon, was singled out for the Dale Iwanoczko Sportsman Award.
