Blanchard Looks to 2016

Volleyball Canada high performance co-ordinator Brian Hiebert said Jill Blanchard, one of 14 women chosen to the Canadian national beach volleyball team, is a candidate to represent Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympics, rather than the 2012 Games.
Blanchard, the 20-year-old Saint John native who plays indoor volleyball for the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds women’s team, was one of only two women from Atlantic Canada invited to the national team training camp in Toronto in early December. She became the first woman from Atlantic Canada to make the squad.
“She held her own against the top athletes in Canada,” said Hiebert.
