Cadieux-Van Huizen 5th in China
Once again, Ahren Cadieux and Rich Van Huizen have placed fifth on the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Tour, this time in Sanya, China, in the last event of the season. After losing to top seeded Benjamin-Harley 21-17, 21-18 in the winners bracket second round, Cadieux and Van Huizen rallied for four consecutive victories over teams from China (2-0), Switzerland (2-0), Germany (2-1: 21-19, 19-21, 15-13)) and the second seeded French team of Ces-Ces (2-0: 30-28, 21-13).
When matched with the number one-seeded Brazilians, once again, Cadieux-Van Huizen were again unsuccessful going down to defeat 2-0, (24-22, 21-16).
This was an impressive consecutive fifth for the pair, having achieved the same finish in Bahrain in October.
Other top Canadian results in China included a 9th place finish for Marie Andree Lessard-Annie Martin, and a 17th place finish for Liz Maloney-Kara Zakrzewski and Martin Reader-Ray Sewell.
