The Dubai Open is the first-ever international Beach Volleyball event to be staged in the United Arab Emirates and was held at the Jumierah Beach Park, October 5-10.

Helping First Nations Youth

Ottawa Valley resident Krista Johnson is trying to help first nations youth from thousands of kilometers away.
Recently, she organized a tri-sport tournament at Fellowes High School, where people came together to play volleyball, basketball and ultimate frisbee to raise money for the youth of Kasabonika Lake First Nation. Approximately $300 was raised by participants.
