Georgian’s Hammond selected

Georgian Grizzlies men’s volleyball star Mike Hammond has been selected to the Ontario U18 Provincial Team.
Hammond, a 6’8” middle from Barrie, enjoyed an outstanding rookie season with the Grizzlies in 2007-08. He was named a first-team Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) All-Star and captured OCAA Rookie of the Year honours. “We are very excited for Mike,” said Georgian head coach John Moore. “It’s a great opportunity that will enhance his continued development as a player.” Team Ontario trained at the
University of Toronto over the weekend before leaving for Halifax to participate in the National Team Challenge Cup (NTCC). The NTCC, hosted by Volleyball Canada and Volleyball Nova Scotia, will be held from Thursday through Sunday, July 24-27, on the campuses of Saint Mary’s University, King’s College and Dalhousie University.
