Volleyball’s elite among players in Cobourg
There wasn’t a whole lot of fanfare around them, but if you searched them out carefully amongst all those volleyball nets at Cobourg’s Victoria Beach this past weekend, you could have found a handful of players who are former or current players on the international beach volleyball circuit. On Saturday, Ontario Volleyball’s (OVA) elite men’s and women’s teams competition was held and featured feet that have touched the sand in places like Spain, Brazil and Korea, where they took on the world’s best.
“The OVA tour is getting deeper and deeper every year,” noted Djordje Ljubicic, a World Tour regular from 2000-2003 who won the Cobourg men’s competition with his partner of two weeks, Mark Ellingson….
